different faces on PJ cardinals m/f?

Does anybody know if PJ Cardinals start to look different in the face when they get bigger?
I am pretty sure they all started out with cute little pointy noses.
My biggest one however now is starting to look more like a bulldog - no cute pointy snout but more of an underbite.
I am wondering if it's just natural difference between m/f cardinals ... or am I heading for more fish trouble?

as mouth brooders i beleive the male would get the larger mouth as described, that is if they do have a sexual dimorphism . . .

Gender: No external differences are known, though males are likely to have larger mouths.

So my guess is that this is what your fish are exhibiting due to being a mouth brooder and your male is the one that carries the fry . . . maybe you are gonna have babies instead of woes :)

I am a little in awe that you picked up on the difference without reading it first. I only have one (bangaii) to compare to, but constantly wonder if its male or female.

Justin, this one is starting to have a profile like Jade! It's pretty obvious. Like Jade standing beside a chihuahua.

Haha thanks for the visual! I believe they are like clowns and don't develop a distinguishable difference until they are mature. How long have you had them? I have no clue how old mine is, though I know it's grown. At least from other cardinals I have seen. I need to take a very detailed mental picture and try comparing it to other adult cardinals. IMO all bangaiis have a jade profile with an upside down smile lol.

Eek. That's kind of sad isn't it? I did a defensive driving course online when I joined MAAST so I was on here a lot while the pages loaded... :shades:
Then I just got used to it and my business is online so it's easy to leave a tab open and check in frequently.
