I am surprised as well as to how it seems like the fish or inverts didnt even seem to mind the "lightning"

I can't speak for Stephen's but the first time I turned my Thunderstorm on the Anthias fled into the rocks but only for the first lightning or two. After that they really don't seem to care.

Nice!

And with sound to boot!

Is the sound coming from the fixture or did you personally add that somehow?

Christopher :)

The sound is just a audioswap file from youtube. I'm sure i will add a thumbdrive with a mp3 file to my tv real soon.

Did you end up getting the Profilux controller? Or is this an option on the light w/o that profilux?

I did not get the profilux controller. This is done with the new firmware available from AI, so it's all done with the stock controller

Ok well my tank is getting a major rebuild. I'm going super simple on this one. It will turn into a display macro/mangrove tank once all my sps is gone. About 1/3 of the rock will be moved to the sump for a larger cryptic fuge. I will keep the skimmer but the bio pellets and Kalk reactor are gone. I'm also removing the mp40 and will replace my sicce 4.0 with my mag7 for the return pump. I will add around 3" of sand aswell. I'm going to keep the tank simple to work on phyto, rotifer and copepod cultures.

What will you be feeding the rotis, phyto, and pods to?

Rotifers will come later if my clowns start to breed, phyto will be for tebstan and my tank and pods to seed my tank and maybe for some red mandarins. The main use of phyto in my tank is to speed up sponge growth.

Oh this is going to be great. I really love my seahorse tank (which has macro and mangroves). It really makes you think twice about how much we spend on reef tanks when things can be so beautiful with less expensive stuff.

Have fun! :)

I agree, plus I would like to spend more time and money on fish. I think raising some babies would be alot of fun. Yeah, alot of work but it would help gain alot of knowledge.

Ok thanks to ace I now have cultures of phyto and rotifers going. Once I have a larger amount of phyto going I plan to add pods and brine shrimp too. Hopefuly with all the live foods I will be able speed up feather duster and sponge growth in my cryptic fuge and provide some great snacks for my fish. My gsm clowns have gained so much more color sense I stopped feeding dry foods and switched to all frozen. Once I get sand put in my tank and have a large amount of pods and a seperate culture of pods I plan to work on getting a pair of red mandarins. I'm going back to basics with as much live food as I can. My main goal is now to get some fish spawning. It should help provide some good knowledge.

Small update- alot of my sps is now gone, and I have moved about 1/4 of my rock to the sump. I also have about 85-90 pounds of new dry sand ready to put in. My 30x14" sump is now about 1/3 full of rock for my cryptic fuge and I plan to add more. I'm going with mainly natural filtration on this setup..only rock, sand and my skimmer. My goal is to have tons of sponge and feather dusters in my cryptic fuge.

Well it's taken some time but I am making progress. Only a few pieces of sps left in the tank now. The macro setup is coming along, I now have 5 mangroves, grape caulerpa, red grape caulerpa, prolifera, codium, catus caulerpa, 2-3 different halimeda species, red dictyota, flame algae, pencel cap/mermaid brush, pink galaxy, scroll algae plus a few extras. Wow, I got alot more then I thought I did. I also added a new long tentacle anemone for my GSM pair, they love it. They both can finally host the same anemone at the same time. The other ones I have are really small BTA's, they never get any bigger then about 2". It's kinda funny watching a clown only be able to push it's face into the anemone. I'll try to get some pics of the new setup posted soon.

Picturing the clown's face in the anemone got me laughing. I was going to say if you wanted to go natural to take your skimmer offline and use a turf scrubber but it would outcompete the stuff you want to keep. Cant wait to see some pics.

Wow, that looks a lot different than the last time I saw your tank. But, the anthias and the cleaner shrimp look familiar.
