BC 29 for sale price reduced

I am selling my 29 biocube that I had up and running around 2 1/2 years or so. It has been modded to allow a heater in the first chamber by removing the false floor. Also the 2nd chamber has been split down the middle with a underflow baffle to allow mechanical and chemical filtration on the right and a little live rock rubble and chaeto on the left. It then goes down and into the 3rd chamber. The pump in the 3rd chamber is stock, however it has been raised up, by shortening the tubing and making a pvc stand, to increase water volume and increase output. The baffles in the second chamber are fully removable and the system can be run with the stock 3 chambers.

i might actually be moving up to cs/bryan area for a job in about 6-8 months time. how do you keep a reef going up there if there aren't any stores for an hour around? i was just wondering if i was going to have to give up the hobby

I get all my supplies when I go home every 3-4 weeks or so and just stock up on it all. Im sure you can get whatever you need from an online store and have it shipped to you. As for livestock I personally will pay more for a specimen that I can see with my own eyes before I buy it so I just pick up stuff whenever I go home. Good thing about this is that it definitely helps keep my spending down, im already a broke enough college student I dont need to keep buying coral LOL. But yet again with all the online retailers that sell fish, coral and supplies I think it would be very manageable. I know there was a forum for people just in this area that just stopped in december but had close to 200 members so there are people here that do it.

i guess i'm thinking of doing a Biocube or JBJ cube so that i can have a nice tank with less components to mess with

The biocube is nice, and with the stuff that you can do w/ it on top of what i have done makes it easy w/o a lot of equipment

How did you like that hydor flo thing? I like the concept, but did it work in practice?

worked really nicely got my xenia to move with the ebb and flow of the tank, and still got a lot of O2 into the tank. Also helped to reduce my cyano problem some from the increased waterflow on the front corners.

So with midterms mostly over I looked around for prices of new BC 29 w/ stands and realized my price was a lil high so I am dropping it to $300 . . . maybe im just happy midterms are over but oo well

Hey all. Sorry I decided after moving my new tank/stand/canopy combo that I made from school that its way more difficult than if I would have moved my BC. So I decided to keep my BC for now, sorry all. On the plus side there will be a new LED BC retro thread soon hopefully :)

as of now keeping both, just too much stuff for it to be moved back and forth all the time. probably will keep the custom one at home and take the BC to school and transfer everything back and forth between the tanks... or might get a nano... been thinking bout pimping out one of those edge tanks for reef...or somethin else idk, just want a tank that i can move everything in 1 trip in my honda civic lol

an edge tank, huh... good luck. They're cool looking, but it seems like such a pain to get in there for anything.
