I got a hold of a greenish bta that has white speckles on it? Does anyone know what specification the speckles are for? Will it be ok with my rbta? I am working on getting picts.

It is just a variant. I have one bta with speckles now. It is living with one green bta, two rbta and two brown with white tips bta. I run carbon every so often but they dont bother each other.

they are reported to release toxins against eachother even if they are the same species, but as long as there is enough water volume and good skimming and carbon useage along with husbandry habits it should be fine. As this will either dilute or remove the toxins
