Hello all! We closed on our new home last Thursday and we are just about settled in. I will be setting up a 125 Gallon SPS dominant tank. Tank should have water in it by next weekend!

Here is a list of items I already have.

125 Gallon Aqueon Aquarium w/ 1500 GPH glass-holes.com overflow
Used 32 inch tall Stand
Used Acrylic Sump
Rio Hyperflow Pump 12HF
Bubble Magus NAC6 skimmer
100 lbs of Sand
125 lbs of Fiji Live Rock
Lots of Live Rock Rubble
2 aptinstruments.com dosing pumps
Several Maxi jet mods
Purely H2O RODI (should be arriving by the end of the week)

I still have not decided on which light fixture I will be going to use. I have used both MH and T5 in the past and I prefer the aesthetics of metal halides.

Cool Bernie. We still have some of the corals we got for you when we first started. One of my favorite zoas was from your tank.

When we had our 125gal, we had a 32" stand too. If was real hard to get underneath and get my arm in there. You going to have a sump/fuge under the tank or have in another room?

Glad they are still doing well! Measured the stand again and it is actually 36" tall and sump height is 12" tall. Sump/Fuge will be in the stand. Should be enough room.

lokani is great. You should do ATI t5 or LED but halide is always easy for a larger setup and maybe cheaper

I have decided to light the tank with three 150 watt de halides. I will be using Radium bulbs housed in Hamilton Cayman Sun reflectors. Bulbs will be fired by Hamilton M81 HQI ballasts. Tank is almost filled with water. I changed my mind on the lighting. I just bought a SLS Maristar Fixture w 3 250 watt de halides + 4 36" T5's. I will be running Ushio 14k bulbs with ATI Blue Plus T5's. Lights should be in next week. I will post pics of the tank tonight.

I decided not to add a coral beauty. I walked into the lfs and saw a Maldives male Lyretail that I just had to have. He was eating within minutes of putting him in my tank. I'll be adding 2 female Lyretails on Friday.

Chris, the acro in the 5th pic is a FHI Acro I picked up at Reefs2U. The one I got from you is in the 1st pic left of the Yellow Tail Damsel. It has held that dark blue color in my tank. Defintately one of my favorites!
