View Full Version : I AM FINALLY CONTENT!!!! Lots of PICS!

That is right folks, I said it! I finally have finished my fish collection in my 40gal reef and like I told my wife, no more adding fish or getting rid of fish for a while, I am finally sooo content with my inhabitants after some major purchases today from GC Reef!
Today, I purchased my dream fish, a SuperMale Rhomboid Wrasse, regularly a $250-$400 fish for an incredible $160 today at GC Reef....I also picked up 2 Helfrichi Firefish, normally about $125-$160 per fish, got them at GC Reef for $80/piece, freaking amazing deals!
Anyways, now my tank inhabitants include:
Green Mandarin (FYI Karin, she is fat and happy)
Copperband Butterfly
Pair of Ocellaris Clownfish
Dracula Goby
Tailspot Blenny
Pair of Helfrichi Firefish
SuperMale Rhomboid Wrasse
Two Cleaner Shrimp
I am so in love with the colors of these fish, their personalities and the "collectors" love that some of them are very rare and highly sought after by aquarists. The Rhomboid Wrasse is such a striking fish as he seems to change colors under the lights. The Hellfrichis Firefish have to be some of the most beautiful fish even though they have a grumpy look; I think my Tailspot Blenny thinks he is morphing into one as they all three hang out together all the time....Threes Company. My clownfish are getting to be adults, and I love my Copperband Butterfly even though he is battling ICH right now (I took him home too early from GC Reef before he could be quarantined, but he is eating good, keep my fingers crossed) and my Mandarin hunts all day, everyday. BTW, no comments about my pitiful SPS frags, I am done with SPS till I setup my new tank with big lights, but that wont be for a long while....I love my zoas!
Please enjoy the pics!!!!
Best,
Michael

I'll jump on the wrasse bandwagon, that thing is SWEEEEET! I'm interested to see how your zoas fare with the copperband in there. I hear they have quite the appetite for zoanthids.

So far, the Copperband is not picking on anything, but then again, that is what I experienced with my Flame Angel until he was picking on everything! Time will tell, but right now, we are all good!
Thanks for the comments folks! The Rhomboid Wrasse has been a personal pursuit of mine every since I read about it on WetWebMedia, Fenner's website...I just had to have one, and he is nothing short of spectacular!
I am a little alarmed today because the two Hellfrich Firefish that I got were cool the first night, now there is a little turf war between them, and the big one has a little chunk missing out of his dorsal fin, looks like the little one got tired of being picked on! But, the bigger guy keeps running the littler one back into the rocks! I dont like violence in my tank!

Finally content?!? hmmm, that won't last!
Love the beautiful new wrasse. What is a "supermale" vs. a regular old male?
Hope that your firefish decide to settle down.

Kristy, I dont really know, but he was labeled a SuperMale on the stock order list...I think that the males are definitely the pricier, more colorful ones, and they vary in degrees of bright colors, so he is definitely SUPER in my book, so freaking cool to watch him around the tank! But, your guess is as good as mine, but I will never leave out the super in describing him! HAHA

Whats up everyone,
I was playing around with the camera today and thought I would share some of my pics, I have been collecting some rare zoas throughout the last couple of months, and got a Mystery Wrasse who loves to be in front of the camera all the time! Enjoy!

Thank you Kristy, quite alot has changed in my tank over the last month, its funny, because you were the one that questioned me being content, and boy were you right, I have added some things and taken away some things.
I made a cover to protect jumpers from my tank, but they could not hold my rhomboid wrasse as he took the leap of faith...I still dont know how he made it????
And then, my wonderful, docile, tailspot blenny started terrorizing my helfrichi firefish...cant have a $15 fish picking on a $100 fish, so I had to remove him. And then, I lost my clam to my Copperband Butterfly, I noticed him nip at the clam one day, and then 3 days later, the clam was mutilated, it was very sad...anyways, I guess as our hobby grows, we can never fully stay content.
Now, my new crave is ultra rare zoanthids...my wife and I had date night the other night and many martinis later, I found out that I purchased about $400 of "ultra rare, name brand" zoanthids...we will see how they grow out!
