mollies in sump making fishy love

i put 7 mollies in my sump a few days ago and when i got home i found some babies in my top tank and some in the sump. that was fast

yep, i have 30+ mollies in my tank to make babies to feed to the cuttlefish.

i have a sponge filter between my fuge and return pump so i dont know how they got through but should i take it out so that they can get pumped up or should i move them myself

Hmmm what fish would eat these? Well I guess what I should ask is how small are the babies? Or would coral benefit from them(small enough)?

I wonder if my blennies would pick them off? I bet something would eat them in my tank I might give this a try when I get back.

theres some in the tank still but i think theparents ate the ones in the sump now there all gone

you can put mollies in a saltwater tank

if you acclimate them from fresh to salt.

They are a brackish species and actually are supposed to live longer/healthy in saltwater. This is from what Ive read online. You have to acclimate them slowly to adjust the salinity unless they start selling on here.

they did it again this morning but alot more babies. i think it was the underwater speaker in my sump with luther vandross and marvin gaye playing. i had to set the mood

Another interesting fact about mollies is they only need to mate once and can have many babies with out a male being present afterwards. They store the male sperm packets and will reproduce until it is used up. So you probably got some that were already pregnant.

i knew some were pregnant i picked out some more fat females from petsmart yesterday
