Thinking of building a lg tank for my buddy. Does anyone know the place in town that sells glass and plastic in large sizes? Like 3/4 inches? I know there is a place I just don’t know the name of it.

allied plastics, regal plastics, or san antonio plastics will all sell acrylic in that thickness, if they dont have it in stock they can usually get it within a week- i always go to allied.

as far as glass that thickness, i think that is special order at most local shops

how big a tank and what is it going to be for, i helped a buddy build a 1200 gallon plywood tank, kinda in wall only front is viewable, it sits in his garage, we cut a hole on one wall in his living to view it, used 3/4 inch acrylic for viewing window.

Something like that would be so cool. But not quite that big. 300-500 gal. we were just talking about that. I saw someone online building one like that.

1200 gallons? dang that would be alot of work. Is it like 12ft long?

umm 9ft long 5-6 deep long 4-5 feet high, i think! but i know for sure 9ft long, you can swim in it, crap part is its only been water tested, now sits empty. he doesnt know if he want freshwater or big predator salt and some softy corals, lighting is the prob just want coral in the center so gotta figure how powerful of a light to use. my friend is crazy and single so now wife to say no to a hole in a wall

I just built a 360 starphire with 3/4 glass and pvc bottom. I got my glass precut from glass cages and they will deliver to SA with their trucks on their schedule. $31 a square ft for 3/4 starphire and $21 a square ft for 3/4 standard glass cut to size. I got my pvc and acrylic for from regal but ace is the man for knowing plastic in SA. There is more info on my tank in the large tank section under 260 build if you are interested.

Allied had a 96x36 - 1/2 inch for 123$
Regal and San Antonio same size were 230-260 respectively.
