Just thought I'd ask if anyone has harlequin's out there for "borrow". I have some asterina stars popping up and I want to take care of them before they go crazy in my tank.

Ya, doesn't seem like a commonly stocked species. Mainly cause if they don't sell, your feeding them your profits. Prolly have to order them.

Have you considered a [link]bumblebee shrimp (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+525+1969&pcatid=1969)[link]?

These guys are tiny. I lost one in a biocube 14. Might be worth it to try again. The idea of asterinas suffering such a horribly slow death is very satisfying :)

Heeh, ya even in the pics they look micro (bumble bee's). I’m actually on the fence as far as going with harlequins or a star that may eat them (fromia, nardoa) since the numbers are small...but then I hear the pasion of hatred like this and lean toward harlequins.

how quickly do the asterinas reproduce. How fast do they move? I may want some asterinas as a treat for my star. :)

I've always wanted a big starfish, one that looks cool but i assume it would just be knocking down corals

That i dont know but i should have stopped it when i first noticed them.

They dont move very fast at all, they are pretty eazy to catch, but there's just SOOOO many.

LMK an ill give you some.
:)

For the pass 2 weeks i have been scraping them off my back glass each day with a net and catching more then 20 every time.
