I really want these, saw them this afternoon in a store here in MA....

iPhone picture, not really clear. The colors are a dark purple with a brilliant green punctuating the rim.... awesome!

Here is a pic of the acans right next to it for color demonstration....

Well, you used to be able to put them in a backpack or small soft cooler....before the liquid limits from airlines.

You can still put a cooler on as luggage though!

you can pack a styro just like shipping but put it as luggage and it arrives with you....we did it twice at MACNA.

nevermind that's going to exceed your allowed liquids. Guess you'll have to check them...

I did pitch sponsorship! :) half heartedly though, their website is up and running but they haven't gotten to the point of updating pictures of their stock. I think they could run an excellent wysiwyg page.

I don't know what the first acan cost, but the one on the right that I want was just over 250, I think the one on the left was almost two.

I was there with my boss, and after I got over looking at their first entryway tanks, and just as we were fixing to leave I found the frag tanks in the back.

This guy is as big as my hand, fingers splayed. I tried taking the photo with my hand in front of it... but the camera kept auto focusing on my digits and not the coral.

These were on a rack that was labled $49 each...

Just couldn't leave the store. Going to go by there today. Might have to fly back today to avoid this little storm coming about.

For the record, not trying to sell for this store, nor am I advocating business for them. This is the reason I've not posted their store's contact information.

No one has asked me to buy or contact the store, but I did want to make the public statement that I'm not here to do conduct any business for the store. Just thought I would share some pictures of some coral that I desperately want :D .

Perfect example that Acans can touch and grow together.

http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt295/alaviers/photo-31.jpg

So many people say this can't be done.

I'm also curious if regular acans and echinata acans can grow together/touch...that one I'm not sure about. I've been mounting my acans with multiple colonies on the same rocks....and currently have one regular acan with my rainbow echinata...guess we'll see what happens. I know some people also cut different echinatas and mount them together.

Anyways...this pic got me stoked.

Thx for sharing.

That's one of my favorite things about traveling so much. I check out the LFS everywhere I go and love to see the different livestock selection by region, the different approaches, etc. There is a definite temptation to bring back a little "souvenir" for the tank but the limitations on liquids make that trickier and I'm still a little too chicken to pack it up in my checked baggage.

lol, yeah, he has like a dozen of them with three to four to a plug on a shelf for like 19.99 or something.... if only my exit out of the state wasn't suddenly so bleak.

I do got to get some of those purple ones. They're pretty cool.

all corals of like SPECIES will grow together, and possibly fuse. Acanthastrea echinata will kill Acanthastrea lordhowensis, as the one species has more potent aggression than the other. The fish is an Atlantic jacknife.
