Did he take the whole thing? Thats sad... I would just take a frag and leave the rest in the wild.

Seeing wild colony's does tend to put our tanks in perspective doesn't it?

That's SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

I have a colony that has half of the polyps as that, but is only the size of my fist. :D

MO-PAR! WOOO HOO!

Yes, we get robbed. So do Aussies though, I am sure of it. :) The Brittish used to send their inmates there!! Did you know that the Aboriginese do not have the same amount of chromosomes as the rest of us?

Sorry, search overload has taken control. :D

Alex look at the "How rare is this?" thread. I believe thats where the picture orginated from but he has tons of rediculous pics he took while collecting.

From the above thread:

Large Duncanopsammia colony (a few small frags were taken). Note that they are actually buried in the sand.

....Good. I was thinking the same thing as Jordan :)

That would be awesome to go collecting and seeing the type of corals they see in Australia.

WOW, just looked through the entire thread.

At least all the specimens collected are not rare and seem to be thriving in the areas he collects.

I was actually thinking of all the dangerous critters native to Australian waters but figured they might be rare. Kind of scary to see a blue ring octopus on page one of his thread.

HECK YA! You don't want to be where it can shift shapes/color/texture immediately. Could prove to be quite...... lethal. :) Beautiful creatures, and everytime I see one, I have to wonder if CafeRacerMike and "Crazy Dave" from Aquatics WHSE are still alive. That is eXTREME reefkeeping!

I noticed that I did not see many monti caps in his pictures unless I am having trouble seeing properly. If that's true, that further proves to me that when my temp hit 86, that was what caused them and only them to die.

I am pretty sure caferacermikes blue ring died. He said they only live a couple years in the wild and Im 90% sure he also posted his passed after a couple months or so. It would be quite a rush having that around your house. Reminds me of that movie where Will Smith has the box jellyfish in his house. I think it was called 9 pounds?
