Is anybody doing the two part system (actually 3 part since it includes some mag) from bulkreefsupply?
It looks interesting.
I am soon going to out of kalk and I was considering switching my ATO back to just buffered RODI water and taking it off the timer.
I could just dose the two part in the morning.
Was just wondering if anybody had used that product?

I've been using it for about a year and a half now, and it works quite well. I've got to dose morning and evening, though, to keep up with my load. If you go that route, get the full kit with the squirt pump bottles. They're worth the extra money for ease of use. However, if I had the spare cash, I'd get a calc reactor for stability and convenience on my 140-gal.
Hope that helps!

Thanks D. I was going to get the whole starter kit so that would include those dosing syringes and jugs. :)

I just got the 2 part starter kit as well and some of their kalk and started using it. It looks good and you get quite a bit for a good price. Easy to mix up and their videos and directions on the web site are helpful. I'm switching over from using B-ionic and Brightwell kalk since it is much less expensive.

I recently purchase BRS's three part in the 5gal buckets. I bought the dosing pumps and digital timers to meter the two part and plan to add the magnesium manually. I haven't tried it out yet, but know a guy in Austin that has been running a fully automated system for over a year. I presently run a calcium reactor and have run it successfully for 4 years. Reactors are cheaper to run, but even a good one is touchy, and mine (deltec 601s) always needs tweaking -- at best it will run a couple weeks without messing with it. At worst they plug up without warning while you are on vacation -- my main motive for switching.

Yeah the calc reactor seemed too tricky for me too. Using a syringe and doing it myself seems much safer.
Glad to hear it's working out so well for people! :)

I dosed homemade 2 part when I had my 240 gallon tank. I used baking soda from the grocery store for the alk and Dupont Calcium Hardness Increaser for swimming pools from Lowes for calcium. Turns out to be just a bit cheaper than bulkreefsupply.

I finally went ahead and got the bulkreef stuff. I am excited! I've been going through the little bottles of stuff to supplement my kalkwasser and the bottles were used up so fast and not cheap. It's sort of exhilerating to have a whole gallon jug of calcium supplement ready to dose and bunches more powder to make lots more gallons!

I would keep dosing the kalk and just use this to bump levels up from there.

Great tip on the calcium!! I make my own alk with baking soda. Buy it in bulk at Costco and it's cheap. I think that I've had the bag for over a year and it only cost $3! I also drip top off with Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime which I get at Walmart. I use the two part to adjust.

Ive been using the 2 part for about 2 months now. I bought the large starter kit which came with the 1 pound containers, pumps etc. Ive gone thru 2 gallons of magnesium already even though my mag was around 1200, it took a lot to get it back up to where it should be. Ive only recently mixed a second gallon of calcium and Im still on my 1st gallon of Alk. Was looking to get the 5 lb pail of Mag, but the shipping cost is half the price of the magnesium, plus tax. Will end up costing well over 100 dollars.
Was going to ask around to see if anyone wanted to try a group buy to see if shipping cost could be reduced etc. Any one interested?

I might be. I am not using much of the alk and am still good on mag but my clams suck up 5 ounces of the calcium a day...
