I'm trying to get back into the swing of things but I want to have a much simpler system than before.... At least for a while... :)
I was thinking of going with a Red Sea Max 130 or 250 but I'm wondering what the drawbacks of either system would be. I have a 1/10 chiller left over so heat won't be an issue. My concern is would a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone and other corals "Thrive" Not just Survive in either one. The RSM 130 and 130D look nice but how well do they keep things alive and growing. I really like the T5 lighting in the RSM 250, but they start out at around $1500 for a set up. But if it does the job well I wouldn't mind the investment that much. Any feed back is much appreciated. Thanks
Kristy

The T5 options would be a big draw for me to the 250, so much flexibility you are sure to get that much more enjoyment out of it.
David, can I say again how great it is to see you around these parts lately!?! :)

David, the 250 has the best options and for a total package worth the $$. If I had the cash, that would be my choice.

Good call Kristy- t5 over pc anyday. I have also heard that the new biocubes are upgrading with fuges, skimmer and better lighting. I heard this through the grape vine though so if you might want to research it a little more.

Thanks to all you guys. I really would love the RSM 250 but it seems that they rarely are for sale under the $1500 mark. That being said I may have a place that I could pick up a used 130 which would get me back in to reefing sooner :). Right now money is the kicker. If I could find a 250 for around $900 I would jump on it. But no such luck. I might just get a 130 pull off the top and put a light fixture on top. Decisions... Decisions...

Ive been looking at the 250 since before it was available for purchase. Id love to get one but cant justify spending the cash for a tank of that size when I can get something much larger 2nd hand or barely used for the same amount of money or less.

Holy cow thats expensive. How big is this 250? They advertise in liters correct? I bought my whole 180 gallon setup for not much more than that. $1500- they must be very proud of their work.
I just looked that up and its only 66 gallons??? Am I crazy or are they? I setup my 65 gallon rr tank for alot less than that. OK I am going offtopic here but this just "mind bottling" as Chaz Michael Michaels would put it.

Yeah, I hear ya Steve but 250's aren't as redily available as 130's on the Used market. I just can't justify spending that much on a 65 gallon aquarium that will be shelved in the near future once I get a bigger place. With that said they are still so tempting because they are so cool.
