I am going to make one. Anyone else have one? Pics would be great. I am going to run drums in sequence to hold the water, connected via unions. Is PVC the way to go here? I am going to build a platform to hold the drums level as to not affect the PVC. The water will be used for a vegetable garden.

The ones I have seen use gutters but also use screen to block debris from entering the drum. Just remember a good rain can produce alot of water so get a good size drum in order to make it through texas droughts. I am probably going to use a 1000 gallon container for my moms system I am building but it is still in the planning stages also.

lol. It all sounded so complicated. I had no idea what you were up to. Were you really just talking about rain barrels?

yes rain barrels, but connected. I can get them for next to nothing, so if it helps at all, I will be happy.

....next is solar cells. I am in an ebay war for some right now.

Oh, I will have a box with a prefilter for the barrels. I am shooting for 200g.

Is your rodi waste water insufficient or do you use it for something else?

I use it for washing clothes right now, but plan to incorporate it into the catchment system, especially in the beginning.

Oh, yeah, hopefully the weight of the water should be enough to run a small misting system for my plants as well as a drip system.

If I remember right from my plumbing days a 10ft. 4" pvc pipe with produce around 3.5psi of static head pressure.(Not possitive) With that said, with all the weight of 200g and add some height to the system you should be able to produce plenty of psi for a misting system.

Yo Erik, I'm been planning the same thing. Rain barrel/RO waste water, compost barrel and a small garden on the side with drip off the barrels. Where did u get the barrels I'm in the need for like 3.
