Do snails eat nori?
What do you do with your clean up crew after the algae is gone?
I am hoping the longspine urchin will start going after bubble algae and I think Tuxedos prefer coralline anyway.
But I am wondering how I am going to sustain the snails?

I have never had an algae problem...and my cleanup crew has always done well. Remember some eat detritus too.

Yeah I am not too worried about the crabs, etc. but I think some of the snails are strictly herbivores. I'll do some reading...

You still have to clean the glass every few days right? I believe there is always a little algae growth (besides coraline) with good lights and levels. I have monster turbos that are doing fine and havn't noticed any algae besides on the glass/korillas for a long time. I usually notice "snail trails" lightly after I dose calcium or phyto.

Ok, are you saying that you have no algae on your glass whatsoever? I always have the stupid light green stuff that slowly builds up and the snails cant get it fast enough! How are you guys not having that problem?

Agree with all responses so far. You won't have any problems with your snails without any visible algae. There's microalgae, detritus, and left over fish food for them to eat. Your population may thin out a little, but that's all.

I do still have something on the glass. The blenny leaves cute little kiss marks in it.
My turbos will be disappointed with that diet though. They're used to lots more. lol
