Hello everyone i just wanted to show my newest tank. Its a Deco Kit 3 Includes: 3 gallon acrylic aquarium - 12-1/2" x 9-5/8" x 7-1/4" high, Rapids power filter, 18W compact fluorescent perch-light fixture with 50/50 14,000°K actinic and 7,400°K daylight lamp.

I bought this one over the JBJ one because of the light is more then twice the power.

So I got this one for myself for xmas, well 10 days later but, Some of the first things I did was paint the under and back and the outside of the filter black, Then modded the filter a little. It came with some kind of filter thing so I trashed that and made a little wall so i could put some ceramic rings in its place. Seems to be working great.

All the rocks, sand, water, filter media came from my main tank. So there was no cycle time. I put the fish in the same day.

So here it is, i have to use the ugly top cover because the fish jumped out one morning when i turned the light on. I would like to do a diy LED set up but i have no idea on where to start.

This is the stock photo.

looks pretty cool.
they do have battery powered LED lights that would work for a small set up like that at home depot etc. for about $15.
but anything I've found on a timer is self made, or on a ballast= $50-$60.

very cool setup and nice mods you did

please dont take this the wrong way, but in my opinion, a much more appropriate fish for that size tank would be something like a trimma goby or another fish like the ones in the following link.

hopefully you arent planning on keeping that clown fish in there indefinitely.

i am really not trying to be harsh or insulting, just an observation...

Yeah i know his to big for that tank. But he was getting picked on by another clown fish in my main tank. It was bad his tail fin was all chewed up so i cought him and threw him in the new tank. But yeah i like the yellow gobe's and i was thinking a little shrimp.

sorry, i did not look at the second page. those fish are nano fish, and you have a pico tank. if you go to the individual fish, it will show their recommendation for minimum tank size. the clownfish there show a minimum recommended tank size of 20 gallons.

i really wasnt trying to be critical, just wanted you to be aware of the normal requirements for that type of fish.

Just changed the rocks around. I think it makes it look taller too.
