i dont think i can handle hyposalinity. i didnt realize the time and attention it takes to care for a fish in this manner. (yea i know. im ashamed, but at least im looking for help)
i have two kids that i refuse to neglect because this fish may have ick.
someone please take it over. (4-5 inch)
i have been testing and doing water changes to slowly bring the salinity down. so he is still very healthy and eats like a horse. (frozen and nori soaked in kents extream garlic) i cant post in for sale or trade and i think this is more of and emergency than a sale but FYI i paid $20.00 (just saying)

Its all about working smarter, not harder. Use the salinity calculator to know exactly how much water to add to raise or drop your salinity. If I rem. correctly, it's bringing salinity back up that can be harder on the animal. The best way I've found is putting fans on the tank or however you can increase evaporation and add SW as top off

I know it can be frustrating but thats a gorgeous fish and I know you will be happy with her once she's in your DT

Also, the fish is looking really healthy, like the worst of this battle is behind you. Just keep offering food frequently and keep up water quality and you may be able to relax on the salinity vigilence. We have pulled a lot of fish through ick and have never done the hyposalinity, just kept offering small amounts of food frequently (3x / day) and keep the water quality good.

Good luck whatever you decide. The fish looks to have very good odds.

BTW raising the alkalinity might stabilize the PH. Fresh water naturally has a lower PH so you can expect your PH to by low in a hyposaline solution.

Edit: And how often do you get to buy that kind of fish for $20 (just saying) lol.

If you need to move him somewhere, I have a 58g (no tangs)and no other fish but a very diligent cleaner wrasse and a pair of yellow watchman gobies. LMK I'll PM my #. I seem to have plenty of time right now...lol

Awesome! I am glad you decided to give it another go. I know it can get overwhelming at times but sometimes when a critter makes it through the rough times thanks to a little extra care they become even dearer to us.
Good Luck! :)
