Could you please go to your tank and touch the dry side of your Vortech MP40w?
Is it cool? Warm? Hot?

That thread about all the Vortech problems was getting me a little paranoid and since I have two Vortechs I noticed one was staying completely cool while the other one got pretty warm.
No problems in performance whatsoever but with everybody (it seemed) experiencing trouble I freaked a little and called Vortech. They kindly are sending me a new motor.
Now in retrospect I was wondering if perhaps I am over reacting.

So could you please touch your Vortech and tell me if its warm or not?

TIA!

Both my MP10's, and my brothers MP10, get noticeably warm on the dry side of the pump -- it seemed fairly consistent between them. If one is running a decent deal cooler than the others, I'd wager a bet that theres a valid reason they're sending the dry side.

Based on all the testing they had me do with my MP10's, being a very unique situation, my guess is that your issue is something thats common and they know a universal fix for.

Hm. Maybe I should be worried about the cool one then!

If they're both functioning -- I would suspect the cool one is the more accurate temperature representation. When I say noticeably warm, I mean that its warmer than the surface of the tank, or other (non-heated) components -- you can tell theres warmth for sure... but its not anywhere in a range I would begin to call hot.
