some of you know about the critter shop today. The firemen have said that all the tanks are still standing but the fire marshall will not let them get the fish out or even put in air stones or anything till tuesday. This is a death sentence for all the fish. Please call the fire dept and the san marcos pd and convince them this is animal cruelty. Something must be done! Stand up maast and make them know that this is wrong!

oh no! i am just guessing, but i would bet it is to preserve the scene so they can investigate the cause of the fire.

I was thinking it might be a safety issue if the building has lost its structural integrity?

The most common reason we do not let residents/business owners back into a structure after a fire is that the structure is not sound and may be dangerous. I don't know about San Marcos but here in SA arson is usually on scene fairly quickly and determine the cause before leaving (most cases). I hope no one was hurt.

Sad to see such a historic place like that go out so quickly. I'm gonna really miss that place.
