Last week my wife stopped by a LFS in San Marcos looking for some zoas and gobies, and she asked about the lighting needs of the zoas. The guy told her that they use "T9" lights... and that they were "higher and better lighting than T5's".

Has anyone ever heard anything about them? I tried to do some research on the net, but couldn't find anything really...

I would be sceptical. T9's are more of a rare size and are about 2 twice as inefficient as teh more common T5's according to this link that I found; http://www.winstar-lighting.com/t5.htm

I thought the guy was an idiot... just checking to make sure I was right! :whew: I do have a 4x39w T5 setup on my tank, but my zoas weren't opening so I thought I would check to see what kind of lights they had on the tank where I bought 'em.
