Ok need to fix this before my favorite coral goes. I woke up this morning to a white stripe straight across one of my green acros. I have been slowly losing sps awhile but lately whatever is eating them got really hungry. I looked for red bugs but didn't see any. Are there nudis that eat sps? Any other things I should look for? Also what would you do to counteract this pest.

I need ideas before my purple bonsai gets attacked. Already lost too much as is.

Got any urchins from the coast? I had one that mowed across one of my acros...mowed a nice straight path across the encrusted part.

stay up and watch at night with a red flashlight (i know the things we will do for our tanks...) you may have a conch that is chowing dont on your acros, i had one that would eat a strip out of a different coral every three or four days once.

I will check it out at night. I just found a tiny white crab doing this just the other day.

hmmmmm I found nothing. I will be out of town until sunday so hopefully whatever it is is full until then. I even took out the piece and all I found were alot of amphipods scurrying along. Also to answer robs question nope no urchins in the tank. I also have been noticing a decline in coraline algae? Dont know if its related or not. I looked for flat worm eggs and red bugs along with anything else that would stick out but couldnt find a thing.

I was thinking of setting up a hostpital tank for these remaining corals but they are so sensitive I think it would do much more damage than good.

Well good news is that I dipped the coral in the tech D coral dip and it browned out but hasnt lost any more tissue. Going to take a pic now....

Sorry for the blurry pic but this pioint and shoot hates aquarium pics. You can still see the green polyps so I have hope. Once a coral starts to show tissue loss I uess I will detach it and dip it.

Yeah I know. I was asking for a dslr for christmas but santa held out this year. Although I did get this new computer! It took about 10 shots just to get that one so... I was thinking about taking it out of water but dont really want to stress it any farther at this point as it is looking better and the polyps are extending again. I need to get a magnifying glass thats a good idea.
