OK, time to sell the tank and stand.

Tank is 215 gallons (72x24x29high). It's a BRICK - this is HUGE: it's built from 3/4" glass and it HAS NO CROSS BRACING. That means no cross brace to clean, or to worry about the cross brace failing (there's been quite a lot of that lately), it gives you COMPLETE lighting flexibility. It's also a whole HECK of a lot safer than typical 1/2" glass. And, new, a WHOLE lot more expensive.

It has an end calfo with 2 1-1/4" drains drilled. The end calfo is great for see-thru tanks. It's also bottom drilled for 2 overflows, which I removed but still have (they just quickly silicone back in). Tank has 1 small scratch on the back, that is hard to even see.

Stand is an Oceanic, unskinned stand, that Oceanic requires for their warranty - very well built, obviously.

Sump and fuge are also available - but want to see if the buyer of the tank wants them or not.

$1200. GREAT Xmas present!

No, just downsizing AND going to get back into SPS. Just at a much smaller level.

Wow. Sounds heavy. Do you have to hire a crane to get this in?

I was told it weighs 600 lbs empty. With the MAAST cart, 5 of us managed to move it just fine.

The prior owner had the same tank but not as a brick. When it leaked 200 gallons all through his house, he decided the next one would be leak-proof. So he spent the major $$ on the tank AND the Oceanic stand.

correct. It's called consolidating. Obviously you NEED a big tank to consolidate all your stuff into! It totally makes sense!

I think it's very important to NOT talk about the tank for a little while. Instead let's talk about the awesome gun safe that Costco has on sale or the special Sears is running on Craftsman tool cabinet combos or whatever Fred likes (did you say cows?). After Fred has a really happy Christmas he might have more of an open ear for your consolidation needs. :)

I could throw in a gun safe... JK.

Seriously, folks. Once you go "brick", you'll never go back.

Bump - If I tear this down, the buyer might not get a chance to pick up the sump and fuge that go with it...

Ok, let me see if I can make this deal more attractive. Here's a photo of what is under the tank, in the stand:

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z157/bstreep/IMG_8782.jpg

The water container for top off and mixing. Paid $100.

Fuge, in the front, Sump behind it, custom made for this tank & stand by Ace - one of the originals. 4" sand in the fuge, and LOTS of macro and dusters. Paid $250 for the sump/fuge

Return Pump - QuietOne 6000 (1500gph), paid $130

Ace built Beckett Skimmer, paid $150?, plus an almost new skimmer pump I paid $80 for.

$710 Total: Total package, $1500. Add some lights, rock and water, and you are ready to go!

I bet we could sell it to Mike and Kristy. They're MAASTARDS married to each other so wouldn't have to convince a spouse. Nobody to tell them 'No!' ;)

I think "they are married MAASTARDs" sounds better...

Whoa... how did we get dragged into this? Just because we are a dual-maastard household!

If you had not posted this up for sale the week of Christmas AND we hadn't just gotten a third tank (what in the world were we thinking???) this might be tempting. (Who am I kidding, this is totally tempting! It's a great deal and I hate our center brace that is about a mile wide and makes it impossible to reach a good percentage of the tank. Plus this tank would allow us our dream configuration of having both sides visible between our dining room and entry hall.... BUT that would come with some major cabinetry work / sheetrock, home renovation, electrical wiring... $$$... sigh.)

I'm sure someone has just the perfect spot for this system.

If someone doesn't buy this tank, I'm going to turn it into a discus tank. Then I won't be able to build out that nano...

Discus are boring. Go with african cichlids or some cool predators.

I've never been an African Cichlid OR predator tank fan. Always like new-world cichlids.

Yo Bill, hope you sell it so we can see that nano up and running!! But if you don't, how about trying something different for FW, something other than Discus and cichlids. I have no idea what...but something we NEVER see.

OK, one last bump. Otherwise, it's going to a Planted Discus tank, and my super nano goes by the wayside.
