Thinking about using this product as a magnesium supplement. Where do you order it from and how do you dose it? manual or with doser?..thanks

I use it and dose it manually, but not very often. I test for mg once a month.

I think I purchased a 50lb bag from Buckeye, one of our sponsors.

I'm about to start once my system starts pulling enough out for growth. Right now Kalk and some Epsom are fine.

I have a 5gal bucket of Magflake and another 5g of Calium Hydrocide with dosing pump at the ready. Just need to pick up some baking soda and bake it as I already have some Epsom salt.

I'm going this route this time due to the huge amount of phosphates dumped by CA reactors. We'll see how it works out.

I was thinking about using Epsom salt too b/c it available locally, but Randy recommend MAG over Epsom. Have you try to place the reactor effleunt at the skimmer intake? That should reduce some phosphate.

Thanks Giau, yes I ran a CA reactor for a long time and tried many things. They work well, I just want to see the difference running this way.

I could be wrong, but I think Randy's preferred method is Mag Flake with a little epsom too.

Yes you're right, MAG or MAG and Epsom ,but not Epsome by itself b/c of sulfate enrichment. He also said it ok to use if you do alot of water changes.
