maast is doing fairly well financially. there are quite a few members here who go to college and many that have family members that do.

i feel that offering a scholarship to one or a few students would go a long way in building a reputation of giving back to the community. i feel that it would also be a great way to get some "free press" and promote the club.

i realize this is premature with the tax status paperwork going on but it is likely that some planning would have to be involved anyways.

i envision something like:
1-3 $500 scholarships annually (or maybe $500-400-300)
essay required (judged by the bod/officers)
charter members or direct relatives of (brothers, daughters, etc)

Wonderful idea. This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to participate in. It's in line with our mission statement.

Excellent idea,anything MAASTcan do to further the education of our youth is a way to encourage the next generaton.
