My new work schedule prevents me from attending our monthly weekend meetings  .
I hate suggesting something that I personally can't volunteer for, but ......

What if we could video record the meetings and post them for those who missed out. I don't know how time and data intensive this would be to upload or if the sound would come up

My other concern would be people skipping the meeting simply because they could catch it online.

Really looking forward to this meeting. Think it's going to be a great topic! We also have two confirmed for a short tank tour following the meeting, with a few others who seem to be thinking about it.

The offer still stands if anyone wants to grab a ride with Mike and myself from SA to CC.

Sorry, you are not allowed.

Since you aren't going, I'm gonna need your truck. Drop it off by 6pm Friday. Thanks, make sure it has a full tank dude and I like shiny wheels :)

Oh, forget to mention, I already cleared it with Dee Dee! She said you'll have the Vette.

Good idea, someone should do that.... wait a minute, that someone is ME!

We have two confirmed for Saturday's tank tour, with a couple of others that I'm hoping will decide to confirm today. Tomorrow I will be working on the Tank Tour Roster, to be handed out at the meeting on Saturday. Should finish 5:00-ish is my prediction.

Ill be showing my tank!! I just added a few new beauties and gave it a complete clean over for the showing as well! It might be kinda hard to get to mine though, its on the 11th floor and only 2 elevators..

Are you at the dorms there at tamucc? I used to go there and I miss it. I doubt you are at the dorms though as they arent 11 stories high.

Oh yeah and Kristy I will give you a call a little later to figure out times and what not.

in case there is any confusion, this is a general meeting open to all members. yes, that includes web members, charter member, guests, heck we may even let the board members stay :)

looks to be a great presentation, i know brad has worked hard getting it together for us. hope to see you all there!

Kristy
Fri, 15th Jan 2010, 10:56 PM
Also, a reminder: The meeting will run 1 -3 and be followed by a caravan to a few member's homes to show off their tanks. The tank tour should be over around 5:00, leaving plenty of time to swing by the Corpus Christi LFS and pick up / finalize any purchases!

Thanks for clearing that up ACE, I heard there was a clever little rumor spreading around Corpus Christi today about how this was just a BOD meeting, no need for public or members to attend...not very nice:bareteeth:

I dont think that is really fair to all the hard work Big Brad has put into this presentation, I received the cliff notes version, and I will once again say, Brad knows his stuff!!!!

I CANT FREAKING WAIT TILL TOMORROW, THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE HECK OF A MEETING GUYS!!!!!!!!!!

EVERYONE IS INVITED TO ATTEND!!!!!! HECK, EVEN MY WIFE IS COMING TO ENJOY THE FESTIVITIES!!!!!!!!

Woo HOO!!!!

before this goes any further, i would like to point out that maast is lucky to have the sponsors it has in corpus christi and aquarists there are fortunate to have the choices they have. we should be cooperating here since we all benefit from multiple stores/sponsors who supply us with great choices of critters for out tanks

back on topic:

the meeting was great! we had a great turn out and a very informative and interesting presentation by brad. gcreef was a great host and we thank you guys/gals for all you did to accommodate us for the meeting. the tank tour was the icing on the cake, great stuff. i took lots of pics that i will be processing and posting later today.

We did get the presentation on tape as well as Brad offering to send the presentation slides to us digitally. The slides won't be the same without his narration, but between the two you should get the idea. This is our first time to put the meeting presentation online, so you may need to be patient with us while we figure out how that is going to work! But we are definitely working on getting that up and going.

Karin, I kept thinking of you during Brad's presentation yesterday. You would have loved this topic and should definitely check it out when we have it up.

Great Meeting and thanks to GC REEF, not only for hosting the meeting but for having an awesome facility and raising different fish for the trade.

DrMark
Mon, 18th Jan 2010, 11:02 AM
It was a nice meeting.
Brad did a great job, all went very well.
Very nice to see a good turn out, great so many people made the trip down.
We are, and want to be, the elite South Texas destination for higher end coral and fish at unheard of pricing. We can do the pricing we do because we are hobbyists and dont have to rely on the store to make a living...a luxury, I know. I would be living on the couch at the store and showering in the sink if that was the case.... As you could tell, we are not an average LFS, and will never be. We have a different goal and, for the most part, a different clientele.
Anyhow, thanks again...
Mark
