update: starting my 20l again. love the size of the tank and i want more options when it come to adding fish. this time though ill be drilling it and using a sump. the reefing bug bit me again!

hey guys barely cycling my new ten gallon tank and will be updating my thread as i add more stuff.

Equipment (current):
Walmart ten gallon
hob back filter with small light thatll house lr rubble and chaeto
modded koralia nano power head
12 lbs of dry rock
2lbs of live rock to seed dry rock
cheapy betta light for now to at least have somelight on there

Future:
Nova extreme t5 2x24 light with ati auquablue special bulb and super blue plus bulbs
20lbs of live sand

Future live stock and cuc:
couple of nass and nerite snails(no hermits)
either one skunk cleaner shrimp or two sexy shrimps
pair of ocellaris clowns
and maybe maybe one yellow clown goby
some zoas
some lps
and softies
im not really sure on exactly what corals i want to add just concentrating on getting all my equipment and getting tank set up first

onto the pics, i dk why water looks cloudy maybe its just the crappy cell fone cam, its clear in person lol,
tank is on bar in kitchen and can be viewed on both sides so ill have to cover up the rock on all side with im hoping gsp since it grows so fast

no actually there isnt a single store that sells anthing just walmart haha i wish there was i hated driving to sa just to pick up one fish or one coral hah a, and i modded the nano by cutting some of the guards off on front to let more water pass thru made a really big difference the water is going crazy in my tank haha

stang i just did that and it made a nice difference too! and mr cob thanks for the compliment! anyone know a good place to buy an ato or make one for cheap? for some reason about an inch of water dissapears per day its getting kind of annoying putting so much water back in every singleday.

There are a ton of DIY auto top offs on the net. Just do a search and find one that works for you. Gravity feed and a float is the easiest methon but not always practical.

Good looking tank, By the way.

Fri, 11th Dec 2009, 02:39 AM
thanks! yea the christmas tree is full of ornaments and lights actually gets annoying after a while but the women in the house decorated it so they went over the top haha i didnt even want one! and i took off the rim but since its a cheapy walmart tank the silicone looked like it wanted come off so i got some pieces of plexi i had laying around heated them up and made the ninety degree angles and siliconed them on the corners just to add some extra bracing on there

Wed, 23rd Dec 2009, 10:17 PM
thanks for the comments jarob! i had to scape the rocks in a way you could see it from three sides and still look nice plus theres some nice holes in the rock were i can stick frag plugs in. and i might be going around january or febuary to corpus, how hard would it be to ship them though? id pay for shipping
