I have around 30 lbs of sand I am wanting to donate to the equipment bank. Some is from my fuge and the rest came from the biocube 14. Its been sitting out for a week so no longer alive. What should I do to prep it (clean it) before handing it over?

just rinse heavily in a bucket with some water until it runs clear... you could do a light bleach solution to sterilize as well, and then allow to dry... The bleach solution is unnecessary, IMO, but is no harm as long as well rinsed.

Personally, I would spread it out and let it dry. No rinse, no bleach but that's just me.
I thought the equipment bank was kinda like a library, borrow something, return something. How are members going to return sand?
Just wondering. Sand is more like a donation. :)

The proposition in the equipment thread was if you 'borrow' sand, you replace it.. I believe.

Good question. The equipment bank is still in the very early stages so who knows. I think a tank ready to plug and play would be great if ...err... when someone's tank springs a leak and they don't have an extra tank laying around to store livestock. Hence sand being a great addition.
