I think I want a bigger sump. I am just using a converted wet/dry now and I'd really like a 3 chamber sump. The question is how to get it under my tank!

Thanks to another member (Thank you D!) I found instructions by melev here:
http://www.melevsreef.com/install_sump.html

Sounds easy enough and I have a skill saw and am sure I can cut a square hole. But is it really that easy?
Just cut a hole and slide it in?
Am I not losing weightbearing capacity?
I'd hate for the stand to cave in and my tank come crashing down! :hypnotyized:

that is the way i would do it. then, to make it look good, find some molding just like the molding on the stand, attach it around the door you cut out and add some magnets to hold the door in place.

I miss melev's pod cast. Amazing I would of never thought of that. I actually took a wet dry back in the 90's for one that was smaller because the bigger one would not fit through the cabinet doors

I had Ace build me a sump for my 75 in progress -- and failed to measure the diagonal to get it in the door or the back... had to pop out the center brace in the back of the stand real quick to get it in... its not coming out now! :)

I thought about doing what Melev describes there, but I'm still not equipped with all my needed tools... I have a hammer and a prybar though!
