It's come to my attention that providers are phasing out straight pin PC's. I checked first w/ coralife then current. My lights are, of course, straight pin. UV still carries the straight, but for how long? It did work to my benefit since I love my new 420nm UV bulb for half the cost a coralife. I truly forgot how Kryptonic 420's made the greens.

I emailed aquacave as I posted this and already have their response! UV just released their straight pins this spiring and aren't anticipating any changes. That's good news for me

Coral Life fixtures have always been straight pin. It would be irresponsible for them to stop carrying straight pin lamps. Dumb question but, Oceanic Bio Cubes have straight pin lamps?

Coralife have been both in the past and now 96w are obsolete in straight pin. If you go shopping, the lower wattages are "on sale". I believe biocubes are square pin. As well as Current has discontinued their product with at least some vendors.

I think they are wanting to consolidate the market.

Can't remember where I've seen em, but I've seen adapters to convert square to straight, and straight to square -- from a wiring standpoint, the links are the same...

As long as there is a demand..... there will always be a product.

After I posted I started wondering if there might be an adapter or if could rewire with the square harness. I don't currently have the problem so I hadn't looked into it. Sounds like adapters and brands releasing new products in the answer to demand : D
