I like tiny fish but I have a big tank -with big powerheads.
I'd like to add a few more tiny fish (thinking of Trimma Gobies) but am wondering if I should do something to my Rio Seio 1500?

Any thoughts?

How close to the bottom of the tank does your Seio reside? In my experience, fish are usually fine with most circulation devices -- its motile Cnidarians and octopii that are more usually of concern (Anemones and such)..

If a clown goby can avoid a powerhead, I'm sure a Trimma goby would be fine :)

I truly believe fish, like all animals, adapt. Getting knocked around a few times may happen just so long as they have the capacity to avoid it. Seahorses, pipefish, anemones, octopi cannot.

aha! Seahorses and pipefish! I knew I was forgetting some obvious ones -- still waking up over here

Why does that not surprise me... :lauging:

It's not the getting knocked around by the flow that worries me, it's the getting sucked into the pump and spewed out by the impeller I fear.

I believe all seios have a shroud which would be pretty hard for anything but maybe a filefish or glass cardinal to get through. My old ones, you could turn the shroud to make the inlet holes larger or smaller. Not sure about yours though, but I am assuming they are the same.
