Taking Photos

I know this isnt the right forum, but i dont have enough posts to submit via photo forum. If i'm breaking the rules, plz enlighten me.

"Pennies" post explains the use of XP Pwrtoy called image resizer...running Vista. What to do, what to do, since my digital camera always results in photos that far exceed the 150kb size restrictions. thanks

Try out 'The Gimp' or Paint.net -- both are completely free photo-editing tools, that allow you many of the same functions of high-dollar packages such as Photoshop. Of course, if you're purely looking to resize images, Google's Picasa is screamingly simple, and will do this without any issues.

if you have a photobucket account, just upload the photos there.
1. upload photo to photobucket
2. hover mouse over photo (in photobucket.com) and click in the IMG Code slot right below the photo
3. copy that code
4. past it in the maast message box
and BAM!!

One other thing, my flash always reflects big time off the glass. When i turn the flash off, then my picture is almost non-existant due to darkness. Any ideas?

hey man, that was actually my post about the image resize tool. Not sure if it works on Vista, but there is probably something similar on the web.

GIMP is a great free image editor.

Turn off all the lights behind you and see if the camera is still trying to flash. There should be a macro setting, looks like a flower, on most digitals that you can set your camera to.

ScorpiNO: Agreed -- GIMP is my favorite... of course, I'm a *NIX geek by trade and hobby, so the Linux solution always appeals to me... While Photobucket and Picasa will handle basic resizing, you can really achieve a lot with a little bit of knowledge and tinkering in GIMP and Paint.Net... and they're free, what do you have to lose? :bigsmile:

I'll try photobucket first to keep it easy, then progress to other apps if i cant resize to meet the 150kb restrictions.
