Hello Guys and Gals,
Its been a while since I posted on here. Well I am getting back into salt and will be doing it with either the 140 or 186gal 1/4 cylinder glass aquarium from these guys http://www.4fishtank.com/ov_corner.htm
Let me know what ya'll think. Also, I face the typical hurdle of making this aquarium as quiet as possible as this will be in my family room. Since I have been out of the loop for a while, can ya'll give me some suggestion on equipment and other techniques.
thanks in advance

Wow, Glad to see you getting back in. I still have those huge pieces of LR you sold me when I was staring out my tank. Do you keep any of your old equipment and will you have to re-purchase everthing?

the only thing I kept was an ampmaster pump. I will not be repurchasing anything, but maybe asking for a cup of sand.

I'd be glad to give you a cup of sand. Hopefully you'll get some good advice here. There are some good examples of plumbing designs in the forums. Id on't think much has changed since you got out but I could be mistaken. I've used both durso and hofer gurgle buster effectively. I guess it just depends on how much space you have and the type of overflow. Good Luck with your new setup!

What are your plans for stocking the tank?T-5 lights are gaining popularity-they produce less heat than halides. If price is not a problem, check out LED lights

I plan on keeping mainly SPS. Do ya'll know of anyone else that makes curved glass aquariums?

How do you plan on keeping the glass clean? That is going to be a hurdle. Maybe a large rimless tank would be better? You could make it very nice looking and have everything in the stand.

... unless you have long arms and can scrape the class in a horizontal manner all the way to the bottom. But the curved ones do look cool...

That is going to be my biggest obstacle, but I believe it will be worth it in the end.
