Attention all members:

It has come to our attention that our very own President Steve Byrd has been in an accident while at his job site up in Dallas. And has received an injury to his knee, that may require surgery and a lengthy hospital stay.
Complete details are not known of the accident, however your thoughts and prayers for Steve & his family during this time would be very much appreciated.

Sincerely,
The MAAST BOD

Got a call from Cheri - Steve has a crack in his tibia bone...and tissue damage. They will be letting him out of the hospital (don't know exactly when) and he'll recover at home I hope.

This isn't TMAC time Steve... that's later...get back on your feet soon and take care of yourself. Let me know if there is anything I can do.

Hope you get better Big Guy. If you need to know anything about Tibia/Fibia fractures I am the person to talk to. Oct 28 will make one year since I broke mine (compound fracture) in a auto accident. You will be like me, a human barometer.

Agree with Jim, we need you!

Well, i finally got internet again. I really appreciate the well wishes. I will explain what happened.
We were working on a tractor and had problems keeping it running. We had my truck behind it to jump-start if needed. Well the operator did not remember leaving it in gear and when it started...it lunged backward and slammed me against my truck and pinned my knee between them. I had a 28,000# tractor pinning me to my truck bumper. The Good Lord was watching over me because 6" to the left would have severed my leg at the knee. There was no ligament damage but I have a cracked tibia and severe muscle damage.

I went back to work today.

Thanks again for the Well Wishes...

Thanks to everyone for all the prayers and well wishes. Steve is working against the doctors' (and my) orders, I am sure that will only lessen the progression of his healing. But he is also one to always put his commitments first, must admire him for that.
It was really hard to leave him in the Dallas area, and come back home, but with the new job, don't want to take off any more time than needed.

Did you go for a drug test afterward?

J/K I hear the Aggies played for you this weekend.

Get well soon Steve, you'll need your legs in good working order to pace back and fourth when the Longhorns stomp up on your little aggies come Thanksgiving.
