I have a plate coral that I've had for a while - and it's not doing that well. Just needs some TLC, and it's not getting it now.
$10, just to keep the trolls away. If it doesn't make it, I'll refund your $10.

As usual, my sales are NOT first come, first served. I'll decide who I want to get my corals. If you see something you want, feel free to offer me more than I'm asking.

Update:
Here is the plate coral that has been in treatment since Nov. of 2010. Can you count how many mouths this plate coral has???? It has had a direct daily feeding of brine shrimp and loves it! The growth has continued to go underneith the skeleton thus, the reason it is standing strait up against the tank. It seems to like it better this way for some unknown reason.
Here is the before picture:

And here is the plate now to date.

Quick question looks like you have a lot of babies growing, how would you go about separating them from the main plate

Yes lots of babies all attached to one another.. At this time I really haven't thought about fragging this large plate.. I kinda like the fact that I have 20 all in 1..
If I were to frag it, it would need to be cut mouth by mouth by a saw as was demonstrated at our MAAST meeting "Fragging Fundamentals". Not sure if the video us up yet but Jeremy's demos for fragging was awesome. :)
any news on that video?:angel:

Yup. Not much left. It had been in my big tank, and then transferred to the 55. There wasn't a combination of a good spot OR enough light. I've replaced the defective ballast in the light, and it's much better in there now.

I got to see this plate today and it is enormous and it has great color! I didn't actually realize at the time that it was a plate because with all the little babies forming together it has a different look. I can't believe what it used to look like. The transformation is amazing. Nice work Eve (and Ross)!

Thanks all & Bill. :) It took some time & dedication for this guy to come around and he has and we are happy. :)
Its even got some pink babies in there. :) Lots of Green, Purple, Blue and now Pink.. I am stoked! :)
I am sure it will be another couple of months before it has made a complete recovery.

Update:
Plate is looking lots better now that it is in the 240.. :) This plate has almost made a complete recovery. There is an area about the size of a half a dollar. Other wise its doing great. Eating and even branching its tenticles as you can see in the pics.. Sorry if a few of them are blurry... Also, I was able to count the mouths and instead of 1 like other plate corals there are approx 30 individual mouths on this one.

I just got into a long coversation concerning the theoretical physics around time travel, and here you are already leaping forward to November of this year? Hmmmm :)
Good job on the plate, wanna try an open brain? :)

lol.. your too funny Allan thanks for catching that! That just goes to show I look forward to the future! :) I currently have an open brain at the moment and its doing good. It has its days though where its not happy and other days where it is just in full bloom. I would love to give it a try.

It's all relative of course! Perhaps it's us who is behind, not Eve who's too far ahead?
Looks great Eve. Congrats!

Yeah, my whole arguement rests on an inability to control time but rather to leap frog forward taking advantage of dialation.
Would the brain stand a chance if the mouths were gone?

its possible that it could stand a chance provided there is enough zooanthelle in the rest of it to make up for it, also it would have to be in pristine water conditions. What kinda brain is it?

Great job eve. I took in an open brain coral for rehab as well, and it is doing well. I will most likely give it back to my neighbor when he he is ready for it, make room for other things ;)

You're more the expert than I and I'm terrible with names. It had about five or seven mouths in a green mass surrounded by a pink lip.
There must be a lot of zooanthella left for the coloration is still bright, and that pink lip is still intact although there is a section that looks as if the ridges are beginning to poke through. This was my center piece until last week so I'm not sure what to do. As far as pristine water... no one has ever told me what that means. All of my SPS are growing and doing well. I've two colonies of Acans that stay fat and happy, and I've three types of candy canes (Teal, Neon, and a green centered brown one that I found in the rubble bin at AD and picked up for 32 cents) that are doing well. Sometimes the water is clear, other times you can see stuff floating around. Parameters are all in check.... although I don't often check PH, nor do I currently know what it is.
I've raised the coral up much higher into the tank since the file fish doesn't seem to fancy the altitude unless he can hide under something.
Sounds weird but I did pull it out when I came back and noticed that something was amiss to smell it. Didn't smell bad, I was expecting the die off odor.
