I am going through a lot of DTs.
I really want to stick to live phyto.
I'd like to spend less on it though.
I got the set up, got the fertilizer, etc. (Florida Auq Farms) and just would need to get a starter culture of T-Iso but what's holding me back is that I worry how th fertilizer in the phyto culture will affect my main tank when I dose my home grown phyto (with the fertilizer).
I know DT's of course uses fertilizer as well but they are able to concentrate their product in a way that I couldn't (centrifuge I think) so my ratio of fertilizer to phyto would be higher.
For those of you who have used home grown phyto: did it work out well? was it worth the trouble? Am I overthinking the fertilizer issue?
