trigger/ puffer tank ... what kind of corals can go inside?

so far i have some mushrooms, devils hand (more like a pinkie finger) and i had some pulsing xenia it was already falling off and i put it in front of flow so I'm not sure if it was eaten or not

my next move will be teal/ brown palys to this tank ....

i would like to know if i could add a feather duster rock and galaxey,

I thought triggers and puffers weren't reef safe...
but that's just me... I'm not even sure myself.

there not ... but it seems that they dont bug the devil hand/ shrooms

Interesting! I've never had Triggers or Puffers.

there not reef safe cause they eat your inverts. i had a trigger in my old reef a couple years back an it never ate my corals but then again it just may have not found a tasty enough one. i would say get what you want but keep an eye on the nicer stuff incase.

If you want to do corals I would stick to soft corals, but you still may be taking a risk. Soft corals have tons of toxins in them that fish typically do not like. Whatever you do, I wouldnt invest too much money into corals. That being said you may be able to get away with some macro algae like halimeda which may add some color to your tank.

There are a few reef safe triggers

Blue Jaw
Cross Hatch
Pink tail

All of the above are or have been kept successfully in a reef enviroment. But as mentioned have a taste for inverts. You are more likely to have a dwarf angel eat your corals than the above mentioned species.

a lot of corals that I'm using are the starter corals that i started with... so really they are just taking up space in my tank and by putting them in this tank it means i can get new corals for my 100g

Id stick to softies, which is the track you are on. Puffers like hard corals from what I understand. Id go with fast growing easy softies

Powder blue palys
Green Star polyps
Xenia

These corals also do not need pristine water like others which is good considering you a have large meat eaters that will eat your clean up crew.
