i have a 150g that sprung a leak between 3-5AM :bareteeth:

issue its a leak at the bulkhead point possibly the flange or whatever its called...problem is i cannot remove the bulkhead its stuck
im going to try to explain it as best i can

the tank is drilled underneath the overflow
4 holes 2 for the drain 2 for the return
the leak is on one of the returns
the overflow has no water thankfully so the bulk head thread comes out underneath to the flex tube the flex tube has the nut that screws under and up to the thread of the bulkhead part that comes down we've unscrewed the nut but it wont detach from the threaded part?? not sure why weve tried everything short of cutting it off any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated..

thanks

Sometimes you can break them loose by holding the nut and turning the bulhead.
Thats the only advice I can think of. Good luck!

it is probably stuck because it has sand in the threads. if that is the case, you can spray some double strength vinegar on it so it will soak into there and dissolve the sand so it will unscrew. spray it on and then let it sit a few minutes before you try to turn the nut.

Where do you find such double strength vinegar? Hope that works...

HEB has the vinegar.
