Well I have an anename in my tank and I was just wondering if its normal for them to move around a lot at night. That's not the weard thing. It keeps trying to go under or between rock. The other day I had to take it out of a hole. Wat can I do. Do they ever stay in one spot.

They ought to stay put once they find a spot they like. Is it a bubble tip anemone? It sounds like it isn't happy for some reason or another. I would run some tests and check your flow. Maybe it's not enough, maybe it's too much. But it ought to find a rock to attach to.

it's been my experiance, that they move around till THEY find a place that they want to be. I would leave it alone and let it do it's thing. you could damage it's foot moving it around if your not careful. enjoy, jolly

i found a rock with a hole in that i thought i would like i placed it near there and now it won't come out. did this with all 3 of mine only 2 took though the onthe i have place in differant potitions and still ends up moving all over the place. so what works for some will not work for all

They will find a spot with the right amount of flow. I also have been lucky as they usually stay where I put then but a long tentacle I used to have would roam around.

If your anemone is on the move, a word of caution, make certain that all /any in tank powerheads have a sponge filter on them to prevent your anemone from being sucked in and possibly spoiling your entire tank... This is an all to common occurance..

Is "he" (the anemone of course) getting to both sides of the tank and in between? I have had aquascaping in the past that wouldn't allow the anemone to travel very far and thus couldn't get happy. I arranged some bigger, heavy rocks and made sure I had "bridges" for him to move around to different sides of the tank. He then found the bridge and moved to a spot and settled.
What kind of lights do you have? Are your params spot on?

I let my WTBA wonder and he found his happy home. I would let him just wonder till he settles might not be were you want but its better for the anenome. Mine wondered under some rocks i carefuly moved him out and he went right back. the light was too much for him i guess. or flow either way he is happy now and i just have to bend down to view him.

I agree that he could be restless due to an inbalance in your water-he should have settled by now.

"Well I have an anename in my tank and I was just wondering if its normal for them to..." Enough said. The answer at that point to just about any question about an anemone would be "Yes".
