Guys,....been in your store 2 consecutive weeks....nice set-up and very nice clam selection...however, your livestock tanks have been absolutely filthly with detritus (in some tanks more than 1/4 in thick on both visits.) It would take 30 min- 1 hr (once or twice a week) to hit those with a quick siphon to remove all that unslightly detritus....with 2 employees in there I wouldnt think it would be terribly difficult to accomplish. Also, I counted 2 dead cardinals, 1 clown that was very close to death, and a 6 line wrasse that was borderline as well. That was the first thing that made me not spend any money in there,....the second was the dirty tanks. Y'all have great potential with your set-up. Sorry if this ruffles your feathers any, but I just thought you might want some feedback.

Well I have been Reef2U 3 times and thought everything look great and lively. The livestock selection is great. And as we all know detritus is very common in saltwater tanks. What were the 2 employees doing?

Strange, I've always had the opposite experience there. The tanks are always very clean. The only questionable livestock I've ever seen were directly after a shipment came in and that's to be expected. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers either, but it seems like you went in there with the intentions of picking the place apart.

every one will have there opinions about a store good or bad others may not like it and some people do go and look for specific things when they walk in ( like a check list type deal )

i have gone 2 times since they opened back up and everything looked good

Don't always agree with you, but in this case WE do. There are times when people walk in and look for stuff. I don't know if it is the case here, but it might be. Quite possibly, they were in the middle of something else, and they had not gotten a chance to take care of it yet.

I am sure they will improve. Jeremy is a good guy, and knows his stuff. If we were not open, I would make the roadtrip to visit, and spend my money with Jeremy and Kevin(clone).

Jeremy and Kevin, good luck to you guys.

I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers either, but it seems like you went in there with the intentions of picking the place apart.....not really, my intentions were to make a purchase or 2, I did say they had a nice store and a very nice clam selection, and I will more than likely return....

I merely wanted to point out their dirty tanks, as well as the unhealthy/dead livestock....It may not look like this all the time, but on my last 2 visits....this is what I saw......

This is a public forum and everything is not always going to be what you want to hear.....This is my opinion and I offered a suggestion......Some people may not like it or agree, but others may thank me.....We are all free to make our own decisions...

My purpose was to inform these store owners about what I saw, as well as my friends and colleagues that also use MAAST.....

Thanks for your opinions and comments...

You seem to think that I took some sort of personal offense to what you said. I have no vested interest in the store, I've just been in there a few times and had a different experience than you.

Someone once told me....

tell me one store in SanAntonio that hasnt looked like cr-p at on time or another and i'll call you a liar. All stores have there problems all stores get flamed and all stores get praise some stores are better than others some owners are friendlier than others. What I'm getting at here is everyone has an opinion and sometimes alittle critisizim and or praise will go along way to help improve our saltwater community and the quality of our favorite LFS's If I was a store ownerI would want negitive and positive feedback because you need both to improve. My .02 I will now step off the soapbox, Thankyou for your continued support of ALL our LFS's

I'm new to this hobby and have visited over 6 shops in the SATX area and to be quite frank, I've felt most comfortable in this shop. Jeffrey and Kevin have been nothing less then helpful and informative, not trying to push anything on me and cautioning me with my impatience. As for tanks and livestock in a disarray, I would have to disagree. My opinion are the tanks and livestock are in pristine condition. I've purchased healthy livestock in the past with no issues and purchased a couple of extremely healthy looking corals and a fish this evening. I HIGHLY recommend this shop to all newbies, no bull here, straight shooters who genuinely have the customers best interest in mind.

You think their bad. Have you ever been Texas Tropical? The last time I went to Reefs2u I saw Jeremy cleaning one of the tanks. So I am a witness to their effort.

Interesting.

LOL....looking for a witch???....I have in no way any affiliation with any of the LFS.....If I walked in to one of the others and saw things similiar, I would do the same thing....

YOu guys are funny....what's wrong with a little constructive criticism (good and bad)....LOL..geesh.....

I think that was the whole problem, it didn't seem like constructive critisicm, it seems more like a personal attack. It is a little strange that you completely slam R2U and you're doing everything short of rubbing one out for AD. I've been to both shops multiple times and as far as cleanliness and livestock condition, both have always been excellent. I'm guessing by the amount of posts in this thread, I was not the only one that took it that way.

Everybody is entitled to an a opinion and every store has their good points and not so good points.... If the thread starts to get personal, it'll probably get shut down..

Again, I provided both good and bad criticism. I had nothing bad to say nor any suggestions about AD because I did not see anything that I would deter me from purchasing their livestock, if I had...I would have brought it to their attention as well.
