this video is gaining fast as it is a compilation of nearly a decade's work in producing bare-bones packed to the hilt palmtop reef aquariums (SPS and LPS mixed). Even though these have been around since 01 i never posted them on many different boards till now... hope you enjoy!

wanted to link some pics up so the thread won't get too boring:

here is acropora growth in about the 20th week as new plugs, then the 110th week as mature tabletops in the palmtop SPS reef. Sealing of the system, and elimination of evaporation is the reason it stays stable enough for SPS. Not too proud of my colors, but I do get consistent strong growth. Someone invent a thumb sized metal halide and I will build a setup around blue torts lol

thank you very much for stopping by here's another one I did after the one in the top shot, I found these betta tanks on sale at a lfs and I bought all of them and converted them into palmtop reefs. Now they aren't available, I sold this one for 800 at a show dang lucky on a 250 stocking investment but now I only have two more tanks left so I can't sell em, no matter the cost. This was a company called R Aquarims I can't even find their history on the web. I didn't build the stand and canopy, but I did retrofit it for reef lighting and get a custom lid built for it

want to post theses pics up as well just to show the diversity of the different bowls. the two square tanks are a quarter gallon apiece, they are craft boxes from the retail store Michaels.

They exchange carbon dioxide and oxygen in a continual manner and the drawings are the original design sketches, see how close they matched>

once it sealed up with coralline about 3 more months after this pic. then a coat hanger was used to scrape out a viewing window for an extremely dramatic look. The vase was purple when you saw it from away, but when you approached it and looked into the round cut out all you could see was a globe reef waving on the other side. I was going to leave it like this is a signature mark of good ion support, but it obscured too many of the expensive frags from view so I slowly carved it all back out over time and gave away many baggies of coralline as seed starters. See, the little vase helped your big reefs lol
