Hey Reefers,

I am planning on taking my little guy (5 year old) out in flats/grasslands somewhere around corpus Christi on Saturday morning mainly to catch ghost shrimp for our new seahorses (H. Fuscus) but also to see what other cool stuff we can find of great interest to a 5 year old.

Our pair of seahorses eat frozen foods great but the wonderful people at seahorse source said we should try to get some live food too.

Any recommendations on some good places to go to catch some ghost shrimp?any help would be greatly appreciated, any best times in the morning?

James at GC Reef is giving me the nets, aeration, buckets, etc just wondering some good spots?

Thanks,

Michael

go under the intercoastal bridge on the island side like you are going to snoopy's. in the flats between snoopy's and the bridge are some shallow grass beds where i used to catch lots.

just hold the net by your foot and walk thru the grass dragging the net barely on the bottom. be sure to watch out for debris in the water including rusty poles and broken glass

Thanks Ace, I appreciate the quick advice, that sounds like a good plan. We also found a really nice article on seahorse.org about catching them as well. All the help is greatly appreciated.
