A slow rise isn't so bad. If you are worried about it continuing to rise you can put a ziplock of ice in. I would leave the heater on in case the ice works too fast or you forget to turn it back on.

I don't even run a heater in my tanks both the 90g and the 12g nano, my tanks stay at 80, 78 before lights on in the morning my house is 73 degrees

Ditto

as mentioned in your other thread. You do not need the heater here in San Antonio.

What I would do is turn it off I keep an eye on your tempature. If you observe over a couple of days that the temp remains stable remove it.

My tank without a heater drops down to 78-79 at night with the lights off. After an hour of all the lights being on during the day the temp is 79-80. I personally think the 1 degree isnt going to hurt anything.

Was also wondering why you have a heater in there at all if the h2o temp is warm. Take it out and add the fans. Fans will usually get you a 1-3 degree drop depending on lighting.

I agree take out the heater, my tank is between 77 to 79 degrees at all times. It is personal preference where you want your temp at, but make sure it is consistent plus or minus two degrees any more then that fluctuation and your running a risk of loosing fish or coral. The key to the hobby is to keep everything consistent.

Well like everyone said i would not run the heater....I don't and I have a the 12g nano with my temps staying steady in that at night as well as the big tank i think you should be fine. and my house is colder than most. 73... come this winter will be to look about running a heater if it gets cold here in south texas.
