Kalk reactor raising ph too high

Well now the ph is rising too high. Before Kalk reactor it was 8.0 to 8.2 after kalk reactor it is up to 8.8? I go through quite a bit evaporation due to halides and fans but what do most people do to fix this? My tank is a 180 and is an upgraded tank from a 65 gallon. The 180 has only been running a couple weeks. Livestock is about 12 sps frags and 5 different branching lps colonies. Right now I have pulled the hose out of the water allowing the kalk water to hit the air making it much less effective.

Just take it off line and run RO water only . Why are you want to raise your PH ? cause that what kalk reactor does. raise ph. People use it in conjuntion w/ calcium reactor cause calcium reactor will lower your ph.

You dont want the effluent line submerged. One way to help stabalize ph is to only dose a saturated effluent at night when the ph is usually at its lowest... Heres what I suggest.... Set your mix timer to run shortly after lights out while turning the dose timer off for a minimum of two hours to allow the mix to settle. Only run the mix pump once a day (at night) to allow a slightly saturated effluent to drip in the tank throughout the day, this way you wont be adding to an already elevating Ph. Try this method for a few days and check the results, depending on your findings we can adjust from there... If your Ph is very high, you can begin to add small ammounts of white, distilled vinegar to the tank to slowly bring it down, you can also add a little to the reactor to lower the ph and also make the kalk more effective... Its best to use a continuous Ph monitoring device while dosing kalk... Theres several articles on this if you just do a simple google search... Let us know how it goes...

Maybe I misunderstood how this works. Mine is setup with the tunze ato. I thought that it would help keep my calcium levels and kh up kind of automatically with the ato. Maybe I don't have enough colonies right now? According to most places that I read up, the line was to be in the water as once it hits the air they said it became alot less effective? Well either way I'm back to ro water so it ought to slowly decrease. Gonna keep it offline until I figure out kalk a little more. I would rather do water changes than have a possible tank crash.
