i was wondering what is the best way to add a large amount of sand to my tank

without messing up any of my levels??

Soak it in sea water (from a water change) for a couple of days. This will help build a bio-film on the sand grains and lessen the drop in magnesium.

A funnel in a pvc pipe is one way to put the sand at the bottom.

Another is by putting the sand in a zip lock bag and opening the bag on the bottom.

Run filter floss or a filter sock for a day or two.

Another cycle is inevitable.

BTW, why are you doing this?
