all depends really, I use turbo snails and hermits, with a few nassrus snails, keeps my substrate clean, oh and i have a diamond goby that is about 6 inchs long he turns over my substrate like a bulldozer.

I had a diamond goby that would dig so much that he would toppel over my live rock. He jump to his death one night that I forgot to put the top back on, after a water change. I replaced him with a dragon goby, thist guy digs eough to turn over my sand but does not move my rock

Like I said that diamond was a hard worker even in my 125 (72x18x21). so you got to ask your self do you like to move your rock almost every day? how big is your tank?

55 well kinda used to movingmy rock due to my engineer goby's ways..

I would get a small diamond then, right at 3" or so

I love my twin spot or signal goby they are awesome and don't make a big mess diggin

I had a 5½" and he would turn over all of my sand (1"dsb) in a day or so. I also have 19 hermits.

yeah i just love the colors and personalities of the gobys but there is lots of them just want something to clean my tank and substrate

I would definitely go with the Peppermint Shirt. Nothing like fashion to bring along one's tank. :)

JK, couldn't resist.

My own experience, limited as it is, I had a dragon goby and I was constantly 'basting' sand off of the low level zoas and shrooms. I could've never put a brain on the sand while he was dropping sand all over. Remember that anything that requires light will not like sand resting between it and the source.

i only have one coral a soft coral and so far there is no sand on it lol

but yeah think i am going to go with peppermint shrimp and some turbo snails
