You need to determine your long term lighting strategy for your tank before you decide which, or even if you are going to use a canopy.

What ScorpiNO said. As long as the canopy is big enough, you can cool it with a cheap walmart fan without setting your tank temperature throuh the roof. But, your lighting dictactes your canopy. If you are gong T5 or CF, your canopy can be lower and you can get away with having a back on it. If you are going MH, depending on the reflector type you may need a high canopy, but you will really need the back open to get maximum cooling (IMO).

You may be able to have one ordered from a fishy store or Ace could make it. :)

Ace aka hobogato. He builds tanks, sumps, and stands. His work is pretty good you should send him a pm.

yeap he builds all kinds of stuff lol...I am running 2 dual 4 bulb t-5 setups on my 90g total is 432watts, i use two radio shack fans to keep my canopy cool, no heat issues. each fan pushes 65cfm.
