ok...so gemz and I built our frag tank...its a 30 Gallon Long....its 12" deep....we were wondering ....would a T5HO 96 watt fixture be sufficient to grow out any coral? sps to be specific?...what do yall think?

oh and the frag tank has three tiers...one which is like 4" below the surface.....suggestions? we were thinking ... mushrooms and zoas in the bottom tier....lps in middle tier and sps on top tier...

Depends on your planned lighting configuration..

what would u recommend?...the one we looked at has 4 24 w bulbs...2 daylight 12000 k and 2 03 super actinics....

Actinics are mainly for looks, if its a true frag/grow out tank, Id suggest three 10k's and one 460 actinic plus.

Josh i told you bro pick up my dual 96w PC with the 50/50 10k's and that t-5 setup you will have all the light you want.

I would go with T5 over PC anyday :)

I would say that 96 watts over that tank should do you well. If not, a 250w 10k HQI will scare corals into growing.

That or add another 10k or 50/50.

you could grow anything you want and then some with my 250.
