I have noticed recently that posts are being deleted. I understand the reason for removing some threads and locking down some items but I have seen recently where seeming innocuous posts were removed from existing and continuing threads.

Why?

Dave, there has been a rash of posts lately that have not followed the By Laws and Terms of Use on MAAST. These are the only ones that I am familiar with.

The same reason they get removed on any other site........ Abuse! No real secret there...

Most of them are deleted because they are spam, some because they are off topic, a few because they are abusive, but then you have some that are deleted without explanation.

David,
The OP PMd me to have post 2 posts removed from his thread. I was the one who removed them. They were not deleted but moved to an area used by Mods and BODs to leave a paper trail. Nothing out of the ordinary or out of line was done.

Then I'd like to ask why a similar question I posed a few months back never received a response? I wasn't trying to start any trouble. I just hoped that someone from the board would address my concerns. Yet, I never received a pm or any kind of answer from anyone.

@CoryDude, not sure as to what thread you are referring, but I'm betting it's the same type of thread that received too many inflammatory/personal attack type responses. In the future, we have agreed to try our absolute hardest to remove all inflammatory content and leave the thread intact without moving it.

Sean, I was referring to a discussion during the whole for sale forum bruhaha that started a while back. I'm having trouble finding the thread myself.

I figured maybe there were some later posts I missed that caused the whole thread to be moved. I was just taking the position that it should have just been locked instead of moved in entirety.

However, I do appreciate that the board has decided to try and avoid these types of situations in the future. Thanks.

Cory

If nothing is deleted or removed then why is it that no one can answer my question to why my threads were deleted? The two mods that took action against me can't even explain or show what was wrong with my "when's the next meeting" post. I tried to find an answer through PMs but I still haven't received an answer from anyone, why is that? Ya think it would be easy to look back in the junkyard and quote what was offensive about my post if nothing is deleted.

MattK,
I was not directly involved with the post being moved so I cannot answer that for you. However, there are currently revisions in work to help better communicate with members about posts/threads that are removed as well as any violations to the ByLaws and Terms of Use for MAAST.

There has been quite a lot happening on MAAST lately. From it, we can learn and make adjustments where needed. I hope we can move forward and not focus too much on the past. This is not meant to make light of your question but only to let you know that there are changes being worked on.

Your posts were deleted because of intent, Ive already told you this several times through pm's in detail, was there something you didnt understand? Dont try accusing the moderators of saying they couldnt explain when the reasons were clearly explained to you many times. The fact that you tried bashing maast on several other forums and got shut down there as well made your intentions perfectly clear. The meeting was announced, all you had to do was look around, just like everyone else.. Would you like to continue???

Jim, you gave no explanation except "you were causing trouble". I would still like an explanation from someone who can show me what I did wrong. If you can please pm me.

That is all.

Absolutely untrue.

If any BOD's wish to give me some insight please pm me. I am done with this thread but hopefully someone that willing to discuss this like adults will contact me. :applause:

Your "when is the next meeting" seemed to be an attempt to create controversy as well as the previous two threads you created. Also, during this same time you posted on other forums regarding this situation.

We are glad that you are a member of MAAST but expect that you are a productive member.

Thank you.
