I recently moved into a new house. I was hoping to find a house with an attached area for a fish room, but alas it was not to be.
Instead, I have an area in the living room which has an external wall which would be a good place for a large tank (~180). On the other side of the tank are the pumps which run the pool in the back yard.
I was thinking about enclosing that area and turning it into a fish room. The tank in the living room would be on a stand like normal, but all the plumbing would go out to the fish room. I would also open up an area so I could send air conditioned air into the fish room as well.
The fish room would serve three purposes -- one, it would allow me to handle and spills or floods by simply draining them outside. two, it would keep the majority of the noise outside, resulting in a relatively quiet main tank; three it would be much easier to work with the skimmer, pump, etc. in a room vs under the stand.
Does this all make sense? Am I missing any holes in this plan?
Thanks!
