the tank doesn't look to bad for a very basic tank. i use tap water for top off, done one water change, uses a 2 bulb 54w t-5 and a 28 w actinic for lighting. i don't care about about the algea to much because i belive it is natural, but i hate the colonial hydroids. the corals are thriving and the fish are healthy so plug away with any questions or comments you have.

I like your macro in the front, I've always liked the look of planted macro, but always been afraid to do it, looks nice!

if you don't have a tang in your tank it looks even better. get a little razor calurpa and put it in a corner of your tank and trim it regulary and check in the sand around it for runners, just don't let it attach to any rock.

I also like the macro in the display. Good example of a simple and healthy tank.

Look at it this way, organic control of the algae! It's a smart way to give them supplemental food so they have the option to graze on it if they will eat it.

I know what I am about to say is basically blasphemy in SW circles, but I don't really like tangs that much. They add a lot of activity to a tank, but IMO, they are more trouble then they are worth.

i prefer wrasses, but my son wanted a tang so we got it. the pictures make the tank look empty but it really isn't that bad.
